The AdS/CFT Correspondence¶
The AdS/CFT Correspondence is a connection between theories of quantum gravity on asymptotically anti-de Sitter spacetimes and conformal field theories on their boundaries. The most famous and original manifestation of this is the correspondence between Type IIB superstring theory on \(\text{AdS}_5 \times \text{S}^5\) and 4d \(\mathcal{N} = 4\) super-Yang-Mills theory.
A weaker form of the correspondence related the semiclassical limit of the gravitational theory to the large \(N\) limit of the conformal field theory.
